Role Overview
As an Order Management Supervisor located in Nashville, TN, you will play a critical role in overseeing daily operations, supporting financial objectives, and leading a team in a dynamic logistics environment. This position requires in-person attendance, does not offer visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee and support day-to-day operational activities within the order management department.
- Collaborate with product teams to verify local charges and agreement quotes, reducing potential losses.
- Organize team meetings and huddles to discuss market intelligence and allocate tasks effectively.
- Lead efforts in transitioning new or updated business processes.
- Drive departmental revenue growth aligned with district budgets and management targets.
- Embrace and implement system updates and procedural enhancements.
- Propose improvements to systems and processes for increased efficiency.
- Assist management with employee performance evaluations in line with corporate initiatives.
- Support goal setting and development planning for key staff members.
- Help maintain timely accounts payments and adherence to company credit policies.
- Manage vendor payments and resolve accounting discrepancies through reporting tools.
- Facilitate billing of customer invoices accurately and promptly.
- Act as a compliance role model, ensuring adherence to company policies and government regulations.
- Communicate policies effectively within the team to maintain awareness and compliance.
- Partner with the Trade Compliance Manager to support compliance efforts and training.
Key Competencies
- Employee Development: Onboard and mentor new hires, provide constructive feedback, conduct performance reviews, and foster employee growth with training plans and engagement initiatives.
- Financial Excellence: Utilize accounting expertise to assist in achieving financial targets, review receivables, monitor billing accuracy, and manage profitability.
- Operational Excellence: Continuously monitor team metrics, streamline processes, and enhance productivity and customer service.
- Business Development: Support sales and retention strategies, prepare competitive proposals, and build strong customer relationships during business transitions.
Candidate Qualifications
- Six months to one year of relevant experience or equivalent education combined with experience.
- Knowledge of Expeditors policies, procedures, products, services, and systems.
- Completion of a minimum of 52 hours annual relevant training, including management or leadership programs.
- Solid understanding of market trends and competitor activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills.
