Position Overview
We are seeking an Oracle Administrator to join our Database Management department located in Berlin. This department manages database operations for our data centers. The Database Transition team is responsible for planning and designing Oracle databases used across all pension insurance providers, ensuring the IT architecture facilitates smooth processing of pension cases.
Primary Responsibilities
- Participate in IT technical analyses, and contribute to the development and implementation of concepts, standards, and policies for DRV Bund IT.
- Assist in planning and coordinating the rollout of new Oracle products, including preparing relevant documentation.
- Create scripts to automate database-related tasks.
- Monitor and manage IT procedures, support error analysis, and perform regular updates for Oracle databases and related products.
- Contribute to IT security and quality assurance initiatives and conduct training sessions.
- Oversee and initiate test environments.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in IT (Bachelor or Diploma) or equivalent qualification such as an IT-specific certification or completed IT vocational training, or comparable hands-on IT experience.
- Strong expertise in Oracle RDBMS and associated products.
- Initial practical experience in database administration.
- Skills in identifying, analyzing, and resolving errors in Oracle databases and familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
- Experience with high-availability database operations on Engineered Systems/EXADATA and automation tools like Ansible and GitLab is advantageous.
- Project experience and proficiency in creating and managing documentation are desirable.
- Fluent German language skills, both spoken and written, are required.
- Self-motivated, creative, and equipped with strong teamwork and communication abilities.
