Role Overview
This position is for a full-time Optometry Doctor stationed on-site in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The professional will conduct thorough eye examinations, including tests for refractive errors, binocular vision, and overall ocular health evaluations. Responsibilities involve diagnosing visual impairments, prescribing corrective lenses, and advising patients on treatment options or specialist referrals as needed. The Optometrist will educate clients on eye wellness, recommend suitable lens choices, and assist the sales and customer service teams to ensure precise lens fitting and an excellent customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye tests covering refraction and binocular vision assessments.
- Diagnose and manage common visual disorders, prescribing lenses and treatments accordingly.
- Provide counseling on eye care, lens types, and proper eyewear fitting.
- Work closely with sales and support teams to ensure optimal customer satisfaction and accurate product fittings.
- Maintain meticulous clinical records and comply with professional and regulatory standards.
- Engage in continuing education to remain updated on the latest optometry practices and eyewear technologies.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Licensed optometrist with a recognized degree and eligibility to practice in Saudi Arabia.
- Saudi nationals only.
- Proficient in refraction, contact lens fitting, and ocular health assessment.
- Capacity to effectively communicate and educate patients with empathy regarding eye health and eyewear options.
- Experience using optical diagnostic equipment such as slit lamps, autorefractors, and tonometers.
- Ability to collaborate well with optical retail, sales, and customer service teams.
- Strong commitment to accurate documentation, ethical standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic proficiency is highly advantageous.
- Previous experience working in optical retail or eyewear settings is preferred.
