Role Overview

We seek an Operations Manager focused on Systems and Improvement to optimize and enhance business operations as the company expands. This role requires a hands-on problem solver with a passion for consumer technology and the ability to manage undefined projects from challenge identification through to implementation. The position offers a dynamic, autonomous environment with opportunities to shape and grow the role in line with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve core business processes by identifying bottlenecks, errors, manual tasks, and gaps in ownership.
  • Observe workflows, determine root causes of inefficiencies, and collaboratively redesign simpler, more effective processes.
  • Lead the execution of improvements including diagnosis, pilots, rollout, documentation, adoption, and performance measurement.
  • Manage and prioritize a backlog of operational enhancements.
  • Develop and refine practical dashboards and automate workflows using no-code or low-code tools such as n8n to reduce repetitive tasks and minimize errors.
  • Leverage data and reporting to provide timely visibility into team performance, exceptions, and risks.
  • Understand system integrations, troubleshoot operational-technical issues, and translate requirements across teams.
  • Promote effective use of existing tools and explore new technologies that drive value.
  • Translate broad priorities into clearly defined goals, assign ownership, set milestones, and coordinate cross-functional and external stakeholder collaboration.
  • Identify and communicate risks and decision points proactively, providing recommendations and ensuring follow-through.
  • Improve operational visibility with appropriate reporting rhythms and controls, avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Investigate performance challenges using data and frontline feedback, prioritizing initiatives by impact on revenue, costs, customer experience, and risks.
  • Ensure lasting improvements with durable processes, accountable owners, or system updates.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrates strong work ethic, positive attitude, and sense of ownership.
  • Exhibits curiosity, sound judgment, critical thinking skills, and addresses root causes, not just symptoms.
  • Possesses genuine enthusiasm for consumer technology trends and products.
  • Comfortable with data analysis, dashboards, and no-code/low-code workflow tools; coding skills not required.
  • Quick to learn and understand system interactions and adapt to new tools.
  • Proven ability to take initiative on ambiguous tasks and deliver practical outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently while keeping relevant parties informed.

Desirable experience:

  • Background in consumer electronics, technology distribution, wholesale, retail operations, or ecommerce.
  • Familiarity with ecommerce, ERP, inventory, warehouse, or integration platforms (specific system experience not mandatory).
  • Experience with process mapping, dashboard creation, automation, or business improvement initiatives.

Success Milestones

  • Within 3 months: Gain thorough understanding of main workflows and establish improvement priorities.
  • Within 6 months: Achieve tangible enhancements in processes, dashboards, or automation schemes.
  • Within 12 months: Become a trusted operator recognized for delivering solutions to complex, undefined business challenges.

  • Location: Chadstone, Victoria (Hybrid work with two days per week onsite)
