Role Overview
We are seeking a diligent and customer-oriented Ocean Freight Operations Coordinator – Transport. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth transit of ocean freight shipments across New Zealand by coordinating with customers, shipping lines, customs brokers, transport providers, and internal teams. The position demands thorough management of shipments, precise documentation, and consistent delivery of outstanding services throughout the supply chain. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire process of import and domestic ocean freight shipments from booking to delivery.
- Communicate effectively with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers.
- Track shipment status and keep customers and stakeholders updated promptly.
- Organize local transport and warehouse operations supporting the movement of cargo.
- Assist with invoicing tasks, cost entries, and general operational paperwork.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Practical experience in freight forwarding, ocean freight operations, or logistics administration.
- Relevant qualifications in logistics or supply chain fields are a plus.
- Familiarity with import procedures.
- Knowledge of customs and maritime regulations is beneficial.
- Experience using freight management software systems.
- Competency with Microsoft Office applications.
