Role Overview

As part of a diverse team consisting of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain experts, and operations managers, you will help uphold safety and security standards while maximizing capacity at minimal cost. Key Responsibilities

• Perform physical decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure within data center settings.
• Manage assigned projects and prioritize tasks using ticketing systems or workflow tools.
• Provide regular status updates to stakeholders through ticketing platforms.
• Coordinate and complete multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship and maintain cleanliness in the data center environment.
• Utilize available logical tools and systems effectively.
• Adhere to all production, safety, quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve any obstacles that arise.
• Interpret data center build documentation and site-specific layout materials.
• Be prepared for travel within your geographic work area, with up to 25% travel beyond the traditional region as required.
• Scope assigned efforts, validate readiness for decommissioning, create change requests, and execute assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Ensure all activities are thoroughly documented via the ticketing system.

About the Team

The Network and Cable Decommissioning team focuses on reclaiming space and capacity by safely removing retired network equipment and outdated cabling to maximize existing data center usage. The technician role requires robust knowledge of networks and infrastructure and involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to recover rack space, power resources, and sanitize legacy equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware.
• At least one year of experience in computer networking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling customer interactions effectively during problem resolution and performing well under pressure.
