Overview
STADIO (Pty) Ltd seeks an experienced Module Coordinator for the School of Commerce responsible for NQF 5 to 8 modules such as Accounting, Financial Management, Taxation, Auditing, Financial Reporting and Analysis, and Financial Markets. This centralised role oversees the academic quality and consistency across all campuses and delivery modes. It differs from a traditional lecturer position, focusing less on direct student engagement and more on module quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage development and reviews of study guides, gathering stakeholder feedback for updates and ensuring alignment with prescribed textbooks including edition updates.
- Draft formal assessments, implement pre-moderation feedback, facilitate internal pre-moderation, conduct assessment strategy meetings, support markers and moderators, mark sample assessments, evaluate reports, and finalize assessment results.
- Investigate and manage modules exhibiting persistently low pass rates in collaboration with academic heads.
- Engage in learning design research and continuous professional development via trainings and workshops to incorporate latest educational methodologies.
- Create and maintain Learning Management System course content, including announcements and materials.
- Enhance student support through guest speakers, hosting live online sessions, and developing supplementary learning resources for challenging modules.
- Establish connections with industry and professional networks to enrich module content and knowledge sharing.
Minimum Requirements
- Expertise in modules listed, preferably with practical or industry experience.
- Understanding of South African business analytical frameworks relevant to Commerce subjects.
- Minimum two years experience coordinating modules at tertiary level.
- Strong grasp of teaching practices, assessment methods, and study material development for relevant modules.
- Capability to design instructional materials for blended contact and distance learning environments.
- Experience with programme coordination is advantageous.
- High proficiency in computer applications and online learning technologies.
- Qualifications: NQF level 9 in a technical/commercial field, ideally Economics.
