Role Overview
The Merchandise Planner role is a full-time, fully remote position responsible for managing inventory and maximizing sales across VIOLET GREY's curated product range. This role involves creating and updating merchandise plans by forecasting demand, setting inventory targets, and overseeing replenishment efforts to achieve sales, margin, and inventory turnover objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze sales data to detect trends and monitor stock levels to identify opportunities or risks.
- Partner with buying, e-commerce, and operations teams to optimize product selection and allocation.
- Generate regular reports and provide data-informed recommendations supporting both seasonal and annual merchandise planning.
- Support promotional initiatives and new product launches, aligning inventory with marketing and content strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in analytical skills for interpreting sales data and planning effectively.
- Experience in demand planning and forecasting merchandise across channels and categories.
- Technical ability in inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce overstock and prevent stockouts.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across buying, marketing, finance, and operations departments.
- Business acumen with sales awareness to align merchandise plans with revenue, margin, and growth targets.
- Familiarity with retail or e-commerce planning tools and advanced skills in Excel or similar data analytics software.
- Background or experience in beauty, fashion, or luxury retail environments and fast-paced data-driven settings is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum professional experience of 4 years in a related planning or merchandising role.
