Role Summary
This full-time position is for a Member of Technical Staff in Research Engineering, working remotely with an emphasis on enhancing AI research and engineering efforts within the Micro1 platform. The role centers on scalable AI models and optimizing infrastructure, working collaboratively across teams to build advanced research tools.
Key Duties
- Design and develop prototypes and final solutions to boost AI model scalability and performance.
- Improve existing research workflows to enhance computational speed and minimize latency in distributed environments.
- Partner with data science and engineering units to translate research outputs into production-ready systems.
- Perform benchmarking and identify system bottlenecks to guide architectural improvements.
- Document research approaches, experimental outcomes, and technical details for team use.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Rust targeting high-performance computation and algorithms.
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks, including Apache Spark, Dask, or Ray.
- Solid understanding of machine learning system design, including model optimization and speeding up inference.
- Familiar with cloud service providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledgeable in linear algebra, numerical optimization methods, and libraries like NumPy and SciPy.
- Capable of producing clear, maintainable, and well-documented code suitable for research and production environments.
- Experienced with source control tools (Git) and collaborative software development practices.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system complexity required for scalable system design.
