Mechanic

Job Overview

As a Mechanic at T.D. Williamson based in Singapore, you will be responsible for cleaning, inspecting, repairing, and testing large diameter (18 inches and above) AP HT&P and pipeline services equipment to ensure readiness for job site deployment. The role also involves assisting in equipment preparation and providing technical mentorship and training to service center mechanics in the FEAP region.

Main Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, repair, and test services equipment adhering to quality assurance protocols to identify and rectify damage or wear.
• Maintain accurate GSRS maintenance records for service equipment, ensuring completeness and currency.
• Order necessary spare parts and manage inventory stock appropriately.
• Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with T.D. Williamson (TDW) and ISO standards; recommend improvements and corrective measures to address any gaps.
• Conduct regular technical audits of local workshops and provide guidance on methods and procedures.
• Support implementation of 5S workplace organization standards across the region.
• Mentor junior mechanics and technicians, helping develop their technical skills and processes.
• Manage Singapore workshop operations efficiently following 5S principles.
• Perform upgrades on operational equipment as required.
• Coordinate with subcontractors for manufacturing or modification of specific service equipment.
• Ensure service equipment is available on schedule, identifying alternative options if necessary.
• Store, test, and maintain equipment and tools to guarantee availability when needed.
• Handle shipping and receiving duties including job setup, packaging, loading, scheduling shipment dates, and documentation preparation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma in mechanics or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a comparable role.
• Experience with repair and maintenance of TDW services equipment is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic systems including pumps, motors, and control valves.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong team player with autonomous working capabilities and a sense of urgency.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Basic proficiency in Windows applications such as Word, Excel, and Access.
• Experience handling heavy lifting and rigging; competent in operating overhead cranes.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
