Job Overview

The role is focused on guaranteeing the availability, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and regulatory compliance of aircraft components by efficiently overseeing activities such as component planning, pooling, repair and overhaul, exchanges, leasing, procurement, supplier supervision, and warranty recovery. This includes developing and executing component support plans, controlling budgets and contracts, managing inventory investments, and minimizing service interruptions and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) risks. The position also involves monitoring supplier performance, ensuring the accuracy of component data, generating reports, and leading the team to maintain safe, effective, and reliable fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish, oversee, and continuously enhance the inventory of rotable and repairable components, including owned, leased, and third-party pooled assets, to meet operational and maintenance demands while balancing costs and investment.
• Evaluate fleet characteristics such as size, utilization, reliability trends, and consumption rates to optimize inventory pool sizing, improve availability, and reduce shortages, excess stock, and maintenance disruptions.
• Administer component exchange and pooling programs, including ACMI and wet lease agreements, by implementing measures to lower AOG risks, minimize downtime, and ensure prompt network-wide support.
• Handle relationships and contracts with authorized MRO service providers for component repair and overhaul, ensuring cost-effective compliance and alignment with operational needs.
• Track and enhance repair operations by monitoring turn-around times against contracts and industry benchmarks, identifying delays, and enforcing corrective measures.
• Review and approve repair orders, assess Beyond Economic Repair (BER) cases, and oversee scrapping decisions through technical and commercial evaluations to ensure cost efficiency.
• Guarantee all repair, overhaul, and release tasks observe regulatory and airworthiness standards, including GCAA, EASA, Airbus, and manufacturers' criteria.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to procure rotable, repairable, and expendable components ensuring availability and operational continuity at cost-effective rates.
• Regulate the use of PMA and DER parts ensuring compliance with regulatory, airworthiness, and reliability standards.
• Negotiate and manage long-term support contracts such as pooling arrangements, supply agreements, and Power-by-the-Hour programs to optimize costs and component availability.
• Oversee supplier performance metrics including turn-around time, quality, warranty recovery, and cost efficiency, driving continual improvements.
• Coordinate with OEMs, repair vendors, and Warranty teams to maximize recoveries and resolve component-related issues promptly.
• Assess, qualify, and onboard new suppliers and MRO partners to enhance capability and competitiveness.
• Manage the components budget—track expenditures versus forecasts, identify financial risks, and report variances.
• Implement cost reduction strategies including pooling optimization, minimizing cannibalization, and enhanced warranty recoveries while sustaining availability.
• Prepare regular reports on spending, budget performance, cost trends, and savings to inform decision-making.
• Ensure all components are fully traceable with valid airworthiness certifications, such as EASA Form 1 and FAA 8130.
• Maintain compliance with GCAA regulations and internal procedures defined under MOE and CAME for airworthiness adherence.
• Provide support during audits by furnishing necessary documentation and compliance evidence.
• Maintain component data within ERP/MRO platforms (e.g., AMOS, Oracle), ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Monitor component tracking, shelf life, and scheduled overhaul due dates to uphold compliance and readiness.
• Develop dashboards and detailed performance reports to enhance visibility into inventory status and key operational metrics.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to team members fostering professional growth and a performance-driven, engaged workforce.
• Ensure effective personnel management in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

• A Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Management, or Supply Chain Management.
• Preferably knowledgeable in Airbus A320FAM components.
• Strong knowledge of GCAA and EASA regulations related to component certification and traceability.
• Experienced with aviation MRO software such as AMOS, Ramco, or similar systems.
• Possess excellent negotiation abilities and vendor management expertise.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and proficient in ERP and maintenance systems.
• Strong understanding of aviation policies, regulatory requirements, and safety norms.
• Ability to interact effectively with multiple departments and stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of airworthiness principles.
• Strong analytical skills, including reliability data analysis and demand forecasting.
• Fluency in English language is required.

Experience

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in airline materials/components or MRO settings.
• Minimum 3 years in a managerial role, preferably within a multi-hub or multi-airline operational environment.
• Experience managing MRO vendor contracts and Power-by-the-Hour agreements.
