Abbott Ireland Nutrition, based in Sligo, is dedicated to developing science-driven nutrition products that support people at various life stages—supporting infant development, maintaining adult health, and catering to unique nutritional requirements of those with chronic illnesses.
Abbott leads in manufacturing enteral nutrition feeding devices—devices providing complete nutritional support via tube feeding for patients unable to obtain nutrition by swallowing.

The Role
The position of Management Accountant is open within the Finance team at Abbott’s Sligo site, collaborating closely with the International Third-Party Manufacturing (TPM) business and Global TPM Controller. This impactful role drives financial leadership, insightful analysis, and strategic support across the global TPM manufacturing network.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting (Annual Financial Plan and Latest Best Estimate cycles) for the TPM business.
- Develop and update annual standard costs at TPM manufacturing sites.
- Provide detailed financial insights into cost structures, commodity pricing, and yearly cost changes.
- Prepare and deliver financial performance reports comparing forecasts with actual results to senior leaders.
- Assess and communicate financial consequences of various business scenarios and proposals through thorough what-if analyses.
- Manage month-end close processes ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain and improve financial, management, and planning systems supporting daily TPM operations.
- Deliver high-quality financial reporting and decision support to senior management stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Business Managers to grasp TPM operations and associated financial effects.
- Facilitate pricing discussions, cost negotiation, and cost-saving measures with contract manufacturers.
- Support identification and evaluation of projects aligned with annual cost improvement goals, working alongside Operational Excellence teams.
- Engage actively in Sales & Operations Planning reviews, sourcing discussions, and strategic business meetings.
- Lead finance process enhancement initiatives, including upgrading tools, reporting mechanisms, and analytics capabilities.
- Promote adoption of advanced data analytics solutions such as Power BI and Alteryx.
- Assist the financial integration of new TPM partners by designing scalable, robust financial workflows.
Education and Experience Requirements
- A third-level degree coupled with a recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Between 4 and 6 years of experience in management accounting or financial analyst roles.
- Strong analytical proficiency with meticulous attention to financial details.
- Proficient use of financial software such as SAP, Power BI, Alteryx, and advanced Excel capabilities.
