Maintenance Technician

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician will undertake routine and weekly inspections of facility utilities and equipment, ensuring the site adheres to statutory regulations and operational requirements. This role also coordinates contractor activities and supports purchasing workflows to maintain smooth, compliant facility operations. The Technician reports weekly to the Facilities Supervisor across all main operational areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and record daily checks on site utilities such as compressed air, chilled water, de-ionized water, F-Gas systems, and general maintenance standards.
• Provide daily equipment status summaries, utility conditions, and highlight outstanding tasks to the Facilities Supervisor.
• Maintain and update the site's statutory and regulatory compliance framework diligently.
• Collaborate with Fire Safety teams, Health & Safety personnel, and external contractors to ensure timely inspections, documentation, and necessary corrective actions.
• Report compliance activities, upcoming statutory deadlines, and any deviations or risks promptly to the Facilities Supervisor.
• Manage contractor access, permits, documentation, and monitor follow-up actions effectively.
• Deliver weekly updates on contractor progress, emphasizing any delays or issues.
• Coordinate with purchasing for consumables, spare parts, and service orders ensuring uninterrupted operations.
• Maintain well-structured documentation, logs, and compliance trackers for efficient record-keeping.
• Update Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) entries, project dashboards, and daily facility reports accurately.
• Keep the Facilities Supervisor informed about purchasing statuses, open orders, and budget-related matters.
• Work closely with Quality teams to monitor equipment status, environmental chamber conditions, and resolve facility-related concerns.
• Provide structured weekly summaries on compliance, contractor progress, and project timelines.
• Escalate cross-functional issues or delays swiftly to the Facilities Supervisor to facilitate timely resolutions.
• Track and monitor project milestones related to facilities upgrades, equipment installations, and infrastructure improvements.
• Assist in early planning stages by gathering data, preparing documentation, and coordinating with vendors.
• Generate detailed project status reports and timeline updates for the Facilities Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least two years of experience in facilities management, regulatory compliance, coordination, or technical support roles.
• Possession of a technical certification or diploma is favorable but not mandatory given strong practical experience.
• Experience within regulated sectors such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in IT skills, including Excel reporting, SharePoint, Teams, CMMS data entry, and maintaining organized documentation.
• Strong organizational capabilities allowing management of multiple concurrent workflows effectively.
• Clear and professional communication abilities.
• Familiarity with regulated environments such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GDP (Good Distribution Practice) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of utilities such as air, water, refrigeration, and pneumatics is beneficial though not essential.
• Ability to understand technical information and convey it clearly to relevant stakeholders.
