Maintenance Technician - Full Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to uphold cleanliness and upkeep within the facility, ensuring the environment remains sanitary, organized, and visually appealing. This role involves performing varied repetitive tasks utilizing necessary tools and equipment, supporting hospital operations through general maintenance, preventative upkeep, and repairs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain precise logs and records of maintenance activities.
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, determining the most effective solutions.
• Possess foundational knowledge of hospital, electrical, mechanical, and life safety regulations.
• Conduct routine facilities inspections and maintenance checks.
• Care for outdoor areas including mowing, trimming, snow and ice removal, ensuring safety and appearance.
• Handle bio-hazardous waste processing according to hospital protocols.
• Provide support services to clinical and other staff as required.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety codes.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of three years’ relevant experience in maintenance and essential skills.
• Proficient mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC skills.
• Experience with emergency power systems such as generators and switchgear.
• Ability to operate maintenance equipment and tools competently.
• Experience in groundskeeping, including mowing and snow/ice control.
• Ability to read blueprints, measure accurately, write, and communicate effectively, including comprehension of written and verbal instructions.
• Clear vision with corrective lenses and good manual dexterity.
• Comfortable using computers and phones for job functions.
