Role Overview

As a Maintenance Officer at Mercy Place Mandurah, Western Australia, you will report directly to the Service Manager. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing ongoing repairs and preventive maintenance of buildings, plant equipment, furniture, and garden areas. Ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and visitors is central to this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continual repairs and preventative maintenance tasks on buildings, plant, equipment, and furniture.
• Maintain gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas to a high standard, promoting a safe, clean, and welcoming outdoor environment.
• Conduct routine gardening activities including mowing, pruning, planting, weeding, mulching, fertilising, and managing irrigation systems.
• Coordinate and liaise with contractors as required.
• Identify areas needing improvement and report them appropriately.
• Assist in recognizing and addressing health and safety concerns to uphold a secure environment for all on site.

• Have prior maintenance experience; trade qualifications preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in aged care or hospitality environments is advantageous.
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient computer skills with preference given to those experienced with computer-based maintenance systems.
• Familiarity with Work Health and Safety standards and regulatory maintenance requirements pertinent to residential aged care.
• Hold or be in the process of obtaining a current Police Record Check.
• Possess a trade qualification or a minimum of three years' experience in a commercial maintenance role.
• Have a valid driver's licence.
