About the Role and Company
This position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, part of Minor Hotels—a global hotel group managing over 530 properties worldwide across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America. Minor Hotels operates multiple brands including Anantara, Avani, Elewana, Oaks, NH Hotels, NH Collection, nhow, and TIVOLI.
Key Responsibilities
- Protect hotel premises, including buildings, equipment, parking areas, documentation, and materials from unauthorized access, theft, or sabotage.
- Create, maintain, and document comprehensive training programs and certifications for security personnel, collaborating with the property Loss Prevention and Security departments.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security and safety incidents involving employees, visitors, or emergency personnel while following organizational protocols.
- Coordinate with corporate Property Loss Prevention directives and comply with special orders and policies from the corporate office.
- Work alongside law enforcement by preserving crime scenes and assisting in investigations and reporting incidents.
- Support the organization of large events and festivals at the property.
- Monitor security systems including alarms, intrusion detection, fire safety, HVAC-related alarms, and CCTV systems; report and facilitate repairs as needed.
- Oversee visitor access including issuing visitor passes per security guidelines and enforce strict access control policies.
- Conduct routine and randomized patrols across different site zones, using patrol systems such as PROXYPEN to prevent establishment of predictable patterns.
- Inspect all premises after hours to secure facilities and ensure doors are locked.
- Identify and address unauthorized access attempts, trespassing, and suspicious activities on site.
- Manage control gate passes for removal of property or equipment as directed by management.
- Provide support with traffic, parking, and pedestrian control as requested by site management.
- Carry out vehicle and personal searches when the security risk level is raised to RED in accordance with policy.
- Maintain orderly and clean parking spaces, patrol these areas to prevent theft or damage, and assist guests by escorting them to vehicles if requested.
Qualifications and Skills
- Applicants should possess a pleasant demeanor and good verbal and written English communication skills.
- Must have 1 to 5 years’ relevant experience in security or loss prevention roles.
Additional Information
This role requires diligent adherence to safety and security protocols and collaboration with multiple stakeholders including internal teams and external agencies. The Loss Prevention Officer is expected to conduct themselves responsibly during patrols and any site-related activity. They must ensure compliance with all operational procedures and company standards.
