Role Summary
The Logistics and Trade Associate plays a pivotal role in our team by applying expertise in global logistics, customs handling for imports and exports, and trade compliance. This role involves managing various assignments supporting the efficiency and success of our logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure prompt shipment of goods to international and EU/UK locations.
- Prepare trade documentation, including commercial invoices, meeting customer specifications such as consular or translation requirements.
- Obtain necessary export permissions and licenses to facilitate smooth outbound shipments.
- Secure import permits and licenses when required to enable seamless goods receipt.
- Accurately communicate shipment details to freight forwarders and supply all required import/export documentation.
- Coordinate customs clearance processes globally, including issuing clearance instructions and managing duty or tax payments.
- Monitor and maintain accurate duty and tax payment records.
- Gather and organize documents like Dispatch Notes to ensure shipments reach global customers and internal sites promptly and accurately.
- Maintain compliance with company document retention policies regarding dispatched goods, customs entries, departure confirmations, and shipment paperwork.
- Verify freight invoices for import and export shipments to confirm correct charges by freight agents and forwarders.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least two years of experience in import and export logistics, ideally with exposure to international logistics operations.
- Possession of secondary or higher-level educational qualifications.
- Familiarity with Incoterms and international trade terms.
- Ability to analyze and research trade compliance issues for new and current products.
- Proactive mindset with flexibility and eagerness to learn; a positive and constructive approach to tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills capable of meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Effective communication skills to engage with all organizational levels and enhance teamwork.
