Job description
Role Overview
As a Linen Porter at Soho House, you play a crucial part in upholding the establishment's impeccable standards of cleanliness and organization. Your core responsibility is managing the flow of linen and laundry materials effectively, supporting both the housekeeping and spa divisions to ensure smooth service for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver clean linen, towels, robes, and similar items to designated locations such as guest rooms, spa, gym, and changing rooms.
- Collect used or soiled linen and transfer it to laundry facilities or hand it over to external laundry services.
- Maintain linen storage areas in a tidy, well-organized, and fully stocked condition at all times.
- Inspect laundry deliveries for correctness and quality; promptly report shortages or damaged goods.
- Assist housekeeping and spa teams by providing additional supplies during busy times.
- Participate in daily and weekly inventory checks and communicate linen usage metrics to the Head Housekeeper.
- Ensure all transport equipment like trolleys and baskets remain clean, operational, and stored safely.
- Strictly follow health and safety as well as manual handling protocols.
- Respond promptly and courteously to urgent linen or towel requests from various departments.
Candidate Profile
- Up to two years of relevant experience in a high-paced premium environment, preferably within hospitality or wellness sectors.
- Experience in housekeeping, laundry, or porter duties is highly valued.
- Physical fitness sufficient to safely handle the lifting and moving of linen loads.
- Strong organizational abilities coupled with proficient time management.
- Dependable, positive mindset, and proactive approach to teamwork and individual tasks.
- Basic command of English for effective communication.
