Role Overview
The Layout Lead is tasked with overseeing layout planning, optimization, and warehouse engineering processes. This role focuses on infrastructure development, efficient use of resources, material handling solutions, and maximization of warehouse space to support production and operational functions. The position ensures adherence to safety protocols, promotes smooth workflows, and designs for scalability of operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance efficiency by optimizing workflows, material transit, and layouts for production and storage.
- Upgrade warehouse design and implement better inventory management techniques.
- Secure robust infrastructure support integrated with essential utilities.
- Oversee outsourced work focusing on performance, schedules, and cost efficiency.
- Guarantee compliance with all statutory and environmental regulations.
Expected Deliverables
- Provide optimized layout plans and effectively utilize warehouse space.
- Streamline workflows to reduce material handling efforts and decrease lead times.
- Create cost-efficient layouts minimizing resource wastage.
- Develop infrastructure that supports expansion of existing and new manufacturing facilities.
- Maintain safety, environmental standards, and sustainability goals.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels for store and warehouse operations.
Supporting Actions
- Design 2D and 3D plans, space allocations, and workflow charts for warehouses and production units.
- Monitor project progress, oversee execution, and ensure completion timelines.
- Implement modern technologies like Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and optimized storage location management.
- Maintain certifications and audits for safety, environment, and quality.
- Perform regular capacity assessments based on demand fluctuations.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10 to 12 years of experience in layout design, warehouse engineering, and facility management with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
- Proficiency in CAD software, layout design, and planning of material flows.
- Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Preferred advanced degree such as a Master's in engineering or MBA focusing on Operations Management.
