About the Role

The Land, Property Development & Investment Administrator will oversee the management, protection, and enhancement of the Company's land and property portfolio. This role focuses on ensuring accurate land records maintenance, complying with statutory requirements, and identifying growth opportunities in property development and investment to maximize asset value.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain detailed physical and digital registers of all company land and property assets.
  • Conduct official land searches and verify ownership records; manage title processing, transfers, and regularization efforts.
  • Ensure prompt payment of land rent, rates, and meet all statutory obligations while securing required clearance certificates.
  • Safeguard original title deeds and organize electronic document management efficiently.
  • Carry out site inspections monitoring boundaries, encroachment, and occupation status.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing land ownership, title status, and compliance matters.
  • Identify and assess opportunities to develop or optimize vacant and underused land.
  • Draft feasibility studies, business cases, and investment proposals covering residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use projects.
  • Coordinate consultant activities along with statutory approvals such as planning permissions, subdivision, environmental (NEMA), construction (NCA), and county permits.
  • Oversee approved developments ensuring adherence to scope, budgets, and timelines.
  • Perform market research on land values, property trends, and emerging investment opportunities.
  • Evaluate various options including acquisitions, disposals, leasing, joint ventures, and developments.
  • Develop investment appraisals covering costs, returns, risks, and ROI projections.
  • Monitor property investment performance and suggest strategies to increase asset value and returns.
  • Engage with stakeholders including government entities, surveyors, valuers, advocates, and others.
  • Support processes related to land acquisition, disposal, succession, dispute resolution, and due diligence.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Land Administration, Land Economics, Real Estate, Property Management, Surveying, GIS, Urban & Regional Planning or related areas.
  • At least three years of pertinent experience in land administration, property management, development, or real estate investment.
  • Familiarity with Ardhi Sasa, land registry processes, and Kenyan land legislation.
  • Experience in preparing feasibility studies and managing development projects is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, or property management software is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license with readiness for frequent travel across Kenya.

Additional Information

Location: Thika with frequent travel across company properties nationwide.

Gross monthly salary: KSh 80,000.
