About the Role

Embark on your professional journey within the core of energy trading as a Junior Trading Analyst. This role entails crucial support to our Power & Gas trading teams by converting intricate market and trading data into actionable insights that promote quicker, smarter decision-making. You will harness data analytics, automation, and operational know-how to elevate the quality, availability, and governance of essential trading data, assisting in the evolution of our trading operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the integrity of trading and market data by maintaining and validating it across front, middle, and back-office systems for accuracy, consistency, and punctuality.
  • Aid traders with deal entry, validation, nominations, and pricing support across all products, making certain that trade capture is precise and timely.
  • Utilize Python and SQL to analyze, cleanse, transform, and reconcile trading datasets; facilitate daily reporting, checks, and controls.
  • Contribute to the creation and upkeep of automated reports, dashboards, and data pipelines supporting trading, risk assessment, and performance monitoring.
  • Interact with contemporary data platforms like Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or similar to query and assess structured trading and market information.
  • Generate concise and dependable data outputs and summaries to underpin trading activities, performance assessments, and internal reporting obligations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience handling structured datasets and proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical aptitude, preferably backed by academic credentials in mathematics, economics, engineering, data science, or related disciplines.
