Role Overview
The Junior Loan Processor, also known as a Loan Assistant, will operate fully remotely and play a key role in supporting the loan journey from application through to funding. This role involves managing a substantial pipeline, assisting with documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulations to facilitate seamless closings.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and verify necessary documentation to prepare loan files for processing and underwriting, including obtaining signatures on initial closing disclosures.
- Manage an active pipeline involving approximately 50 to 60 loan closings monthly to ensure timely completion.
- Conduct Patriot Act verifications based on client identification.
- Confirm that all submission prerequisites and documents are fulfilled before forwarding loans for processing.
- Respond to borrower inquiries and assist team members as needed.
- Apply knowledge of TRID requirements to issue initial disclosures and update Loan Estimates within 24 to 48 hours of receiving the loan file.
- Handle condo approval procedures by requesting and reviewing documentation rigorously.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently and respond promptly to internal and external communications.
- Work independently by utilizing provided resources to gather documentation and disclose loan files, seeking solutions proactively before escalating issues.
- Embody and promote a culture prioritizing people-first service excellence from lead generation to closing.
- Engage in continuous learning to deepen understanding of mortgage origination processes.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and provide support across the team as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum one year of experience in mortgage operations or loan processing.
- Proficient in using platforms like Encompass, Blend, and Google Suite.
- Adaptable to dynamic, fast-moving startup environments and comfortable with change.
- Excellent communicator with a strong orientation towards delivering superior customer service both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to review and interpret internal guidelines accurately.
- Detail-oriented and process-driven work approach.
- Commitment to fostering diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices aligned with the company's values.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fully remote, distributed teams across the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

Compensation & Benefits
The base salary is $53,000 USD per year with an incentive plan offering a potential on-target earnings of $75,000 USD based on performance, though bonuses are not guaranteed. Employees enjoy:
