Junior Database Administrator

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Database Administrator based in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. This is a full-time, office-based position designed for candidates with 3 to 5 years of experience. Preference will be given to immediate joiners.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and upkeep MySQL databases including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Write, optimize, and debug complex SQL queries to support various data needs.
• Enhance query performance by applying indexing and optimization strategies.
• Assist in data extraction, transformation, and generating reports as required.
• Conduct regular backups and undertake recovery procedures for databases.
• Restore database versions for development, testing, user acceptance testing, and production environments.
• Handle database refreshes and synchronize environments for consistency.
• Monitor overall database health, storage usage, and performance indicators.
• Enforce database security measures, including user access and data integrity standards.
• Lead deployments, migrations, and rollbacks of databases effectively.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts for MySQL database connectivity and management.
• Use Python to automate database maintenance, backups, and reporting functions where appropriate.
• Resolve issues related to data access and integration between databases and applications.
• Utilize DBeaver for managing databases and maintain version-controlled database scripts and deployment packages.
• Document technical details of database objects, backup routines, and operational procedures thoroughly.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in MySQL database administration and SQL programming.
• Experience with stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
• Strong skills in query optimization and performance tuning.
• Capability in Python scripting, especially related to database integration and automation.
• Familiarity with database backup and recovery methods.
• Hands-on experience using DBeaver tool.
• Knowledge of database deployment, migration, and rollback processes.
