Key duties
- Carry out routine janitorial tasks, including restroom cleaning and trash removal.
- Use personal protective equipment and follow established safety practices at all times.
- Apply sanitation and hygiene standards correctly, along with safe disposal methods for waste and cleaning chemicals.
- Operate and care for cleaning tools and equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, polishers, and supply carts.
- Move heavy items using proper lifting and handling techniques to avoid injury.
- Complete repetitive cleaning tasks such as sweeping and mopping floors.
- Use suitable methods for removing stains during cleaning.
- Identify hazards that may affect public safety.
- Review and follow operating instructions, policies, and procedure manuals.
- Participate in monthly meetings and department training sessions.
- Handle additional assignments as needed to support department objectives and the organization’s mission.
Required qualifications
- A valid driver’s license and/or dependable transportation is required.
- Applicants must be able to successfully complete federal, state, and local background screening.
- A drug test is required; THC testing is excluded, and random testing may also be conducted.
- The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and perform moderate physical work.
