Role Summary
SGP seeks an experienced IT Technician to deliver Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical assistance and enhance the Microsoft cloud infrastructure alongside end-user systems. The successful candidate will be customer-centric, highly organized, and efficient in managing multiple tasks within a remote, fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, support, and repair IT systems effectively.
- Collect detailed information from users and systems, communicate clearly, document actions taken, and follow established procedures and best practices.
- Configure and manage various system interfaces, including BitWarden Password Manager, Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Microsoft Authenticator, Azure/Entra Active Directory features, Exchange Online, Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Remote Desktop Services, SharePoint Online, Windows 10/11, Android and iOS devices, and TeamViewer.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 end-user support, escalating complex issues to third-party vendors as necessary.
- Conduct straightforward software and application migration tasks, such as moving from on-premises servers to cloud solutions.
- Develop and upkeep technical documentation tailored for both IT professionals and end-users, including forms, asset inventories, directories, tickets, and manuals.
- Perform agreed-upon basic to intermediate IT administrative duties.
- Engage in continuous learning, troubleshooting, and research activities within the development environment.
- Collaborate with managers and HR to onboard/offboard personnel efficiently.
- Participate actively in company meetings and contribute to the IT team's projects, including internal SharePoint restructuring.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior IT staff members.
- Work effectively across diverse people, companies, time zones, platforms, and varying demand levels.
Qualifications
- An Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent education coupled with professional experience.
- At least 3 years of Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support experience in environments based on Microsoft technologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Windows 10/11 administration.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, identity and access management, multi-factor authentication, BitLocker encryption, and Microsoft licensing policies.
- Experience supporting desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and remote users.
- Familiarity with remote support tools and endpoint management solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills capable of prioritizing multiple support requests.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills paired with a strong customer service approach.
- Experience in documenting technical procedures, support tickets, and system configurations.
- Ability to work independently within a remote setup while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified, Azure Administrator Associate, Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalents.
- Experience managing and developing SharePoint sites.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Intune or other Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms.
- Experience with endpoint protection tools, including antivirus software and endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems.
- Familiar with cloud migration initiatives and industry best practices for Microsoft environments.
- Background in supporting professional services, consulting, or government contracting sectors.
