Position Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and self-driven Investment Analyst to join our underwriting investment team. This role invites individuals with a passion for opportunistic investing and strong investment analysis capabilities to work within a small, collaborative team at a growing firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research and analysis on potential investments across industries, transaction types, and capital structures.
- Collaborate in small deal teams to perform comprehensive due diligence, engaging frequently with private equity fund managers, company leadership, and industry specialists.
- Develop, maintain, and update sophisticated financial models in Excel for portfolio valuation and return analysis, including models for secondaries, credit, and leveraged buyouts.
- Prepare detailed investment memoranda, presentations, and summaries outlining analysis results and investment recommendations for presentation to the investment committee.
- Participate actively in deal structuring, valuation exercises, and transaction execution.
- Support portfolio management and monitoring activities via ongoing review of fund interests, financial statements, reports, and public disclosures.
- Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the firm’s deal pipeline database.
- Contribute to a collaborative culture by sharing innovative investment ideas across strategies.
Candidate Requirements
- Between 6 months and 2 years of relevant experience in finance-related roles such as investment banking, private equity, private credit, consulting, or secondaries.
- A bachelor’s degree from a reputable university, preferably with a major in economics, finance, or mathematics.
- Proven expertise in financial modeling suited for complex investment analysis.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex problem-solving and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, capable of building professional relationships effectively.
- Exceptional organizational aptitude, a diligent work ethic, and resilience under pressure.
- Availability for full-time, in-office work at the Midtown Manhattan location, Monday through Friday.
