About the Opportunity

Join the BMW Group team for an enriching internship centered on developing advanced AI technologies for automotive applications. You will be integrated into expert teams driving innovation in machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and human interaction, working on the next generation of AI systems combining linguistics, computer science, and image processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, implementing, and assessing sophisticated AI systems employing Large Language Models (LLMs), Vision Language Models (VLMs), multi-agent frameworks, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) methodologies.
• Contribute to the creation of thorough evaluation strategies for LLM and VLM systems, including test scenario development, defining performance metrics, and establishing validation protocols.
• Support analysis of natural language understanding, multi-agent system coordination, and integration of multiple data channels.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to share knowledge and ignite innovations in automotive AI technologies.

Candidate Profile

• Currently enrolled in studies related to computer science, electrical engineering, computational linguistics, mathematics, physics, psychology, or similar fields.
• Proficient in Python 3 programming and experienced with machine learning libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Good grasp of transformer models and large language models applied to natural language generation and comprehension.
• Knowledge or enthusiasm for Model Context Protocols managing inter-module AI communication and multi-modal data handling.
• Experience or keen interest in methodical evaluation of AI including performance measurement, error and bias analysis.
• Fluency in English; German language skills are an additional advantage.
