Role Overview
Evolve Psychiatry is hiring a remote insurance verification professional to support a growing mental health practice. This role is suited to someone with deep experience confirming behavioral health coverage, who works well in a busy setting and can manage a large number of verifications while helping with intake and onboarding for new patients.
Position Details
- Role: Insurance Verification Specialist
- Work mode: Fully remote
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour
- Employment type: Full-time
Core Work
About 70% of the schedule is focused on insurance verification, while roughly 30% supports new patient setup and intake.
Insurance Verification Duties
- Check mental health coverage and eligibility for both new and returning patients
- Review deductibles, copays, coinsurance, out-of-pocket limits, prior authorization needs, and plan restrictions
- Enter verification details correctly into patient charts
- Explain copay, deductible, and coinsurance information to new patients
- Share insurance results with the relevant internal team members
- Spot and help fix insurance inconsistencies whenever possible
New Patient Support Duties
- Set up and maintain new patient charts
- Handle incoming patient referrals
- Make sure demographic and insurance data is entered accurately
- Support onboarding of new patients in the EMR system (eCW)
- Work with scheduling and intake teams as needed
Requirements
- At least 2 years of insurance verification experience in mental health, psychiatry, psychology, counseling, or behavioral health
- Solid knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, and authorization rules
- Experience evaluating behavioral health benefits and coverage limits
- Comfort working independently in a remote setting
- Stable high-speed internet access
- Ability to complete a background check successfully
- Ability to complete a technology assessment successfully
- Candidates without direct mental health insurance verification experience will not be considered
