About the Role

The Instructor at Akun Adventure, part of Red Sea Sports & Entertainment, plays a crucial frontline role delivering high-quality inland adventure experiences across The Red Sea destination. This position involves leading diverse outdoor activities focused on safety, guest engagement, and environmental stewardship, helping guests discover the region’s natural beauty through memorable and responsible adventure offerings aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and support all land-based adventure activities under the Akun portfolio.
• Guide guests through adventure experiences ensuring their safety and delivering an engaging, premium customer journey.
• Carry out detailed pre-activity briefings covering safety, risks, and expectations.
• Adhere rigorously to safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), risk assessments (RAMS), and emergency response processes.
• Promote environmental awareness and responsible conduct aligned with sustainability values.
• Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor with guests throughout all interactions.
• Monitor external factors such as weather and terrain, adapting plans accordingly.
• Support trail assessment to select safe and exciting routes for adventure activities.
• Assist with logistical tasks including trip preparation, equipment management, and vehicle readiness.
• Provide feedback and incident reports to senior management to enhance operations.
• Care for adventure equipment ensuring safety compliance and readiness.
• Participate in training and mentoring of junior team members and specialists.
• Represent the unique Red Sea service standards consistently.
• Maintain professionalism in all guest and stakeholder engagements.

Policies and Compliance

• Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and operational guidelines to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Assist in producing operational and management information reports as required.

Safety and Environmental Responsibility

• Implement safety, quality, and environmental policies to protect guests and employees.
• Actively engage in risk reporting and mitigation to promote a strong safety culture.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute ideas and feedback to improve adventure operations and guest experiences continuously.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Wilderness First Aid or equivalent internationally recognized certification.
• Training in land navigation, including use of natural cues and GPS.
• Certification in Leave No Trace principles or similar environmental stewardship.
• Skills in search, tracking, and operations.
• Preferred trekking or mountain leadership qualification (e.g., IFMGA, UIAA, BMC).
• Additional certifications from recognized bodies in mountain biking, climbing, archery, high ropes, or quad biking advantageous.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in tourism, adventure, or outdoor recreation sectors; experience in Saudi Arabia favored.
