Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Associate specializing in Immigration to strengthen our New Zealand practice. Your main responsibility is to provide expert immigration services to corporate clients and their employees, ensuring adherence to New Zealand's immigration laws while delivering excellent client support.
As a trusted consultant, you will oversee a variety of immigration files, collaborating closely with multinational corporations, their employees, government bodies, and internal teams to provide efficient and pragmatic immigration guidance. This role suits a skilled immigration professional who excels in managing complex cases, nurturing client relationships, and mentoring junior team members within a cooperative environment.
Key Duties
- Act as the primary immigrant-related advisor for corporate clients operating in New Zealand.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with clients by aligning immigration solutions to their business requirements.
- Manage comprehensive immigration processes, including work visas, employer accreditation, residence permits, and alternative immigration pathways.
- Prepare, verify, and lodge immigration applications with precise supporting materials, ensuring full compliance with Immigration New Zealand regulations.
- Inform clients about immigration procedures, expected timelines, policy amendments, and associated risks.
- Keep detailed, organized records of cases and correspondence.
- Coordinate effectively with Immigration New Zealand, government agencies, third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders to track application status and resolve issues promptly.
- Communicate proactively and professionally with clients to keep them informed throughout the immigration lifecycle.
- Uphold compliance with statutory immigration laws, industry standards, and internal quality frameworks.
- Continuously update knowledge of immigration legislation, policy shifts, and operational practices.
- Identify compliance risks and recommend actionable solutions.
- Support onboarding and knowledge sharing for new team members.
- Participate in ongoing enhancements of immigration processes and promote adoption of technology and case management tools.
- Ensure precise billing and time tracking; align client engagement within agreed scopes and identify opportunities to augment client value.
- Contribute actively to the growth and reputation of the Immigration practice.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a current Full New Zealand Immigration Adviser Licence (IAA).
- Proven track record managing corporate immigration matters within New Zealand independently.
- In-depth knowledge of New Zealand immigration legislation, policies, and compliance protocols.
- Capacity to juggle multiple client cases effectively under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills combined with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong ability to cultivate trusted relationships with clients and related stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Thrive in a dynamic, client-centered professional services setting.
- Familiarity with immigration case management software is an advantage.
