Position Overview
Reporting directly to the in-store HR Assistant Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator performs vital tasks supporting HR operations, such as managing talent acquisition, overseeing payroll processes, ensuring timecard compliance, and maintaining personnel records.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Area HR Manager and Assistant Manager on employee relations and staffing objectives.
- Prepare reports and manage HR administrative processes including policy and procedure documentation.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries regarding relations, leaves, paid time off, workers’ compensation, and similar concerns.
- Support interviews, conduct investigations, aid disciplinary proceedings, and provide HR assistance at the store level.
- Coordinate with store management, HR, training, and payroll teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Drive recruitment efforts by building and nurturing relationships with external entities like educational institutions, government bodies, nonprofit organizations, and other employment sources to maintain a consistent pipeline of applicants.
- Employ diverse recruiting strategies, such as on-site recruitment events and job fairs, and analyze competitors to identify prospective candidates.
- Manage employment processes including onboarding documentation, orientations, and communicating new hire start dates to relevant departments.
- Assist in organizing and participating in both internal and external job fairs.
- Support posting and updating job openings across various internal and external job platforms.
- Contribute to special projects assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least one year experience in HR administration or a similar administrative role.
- Retail experience is advantageous.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Sound understanding of HR policies, employment law, recruitment practices, Equal Employment Opportunity standards, and guidelines.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to meet business needs.
- Travel requirements ranging from 10% to 25%.
Compensation
Hourly wage of $23, with the final offer determined based on factors like overall and relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, and job location.
