Overview
We seek a committed Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to oversee and execute safety protocols for large-scale infrastructure and mass earthworks projects. This role demands leadership in creating a zero-accident environment while aligning with both local legislation and global safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, apply, and sustain detailed Project HSE Strategies and Environmental Management Systems tailored to infrastructure and earthworks operations.
- Manage daily safety activities including site operations, hazard evaluations, and Job Safety Analyses specifically for heavy earthmoving, deep excavation, and soil filling processes.
- Enforce stringent safety measures related to operation of heavy machinery, traffic flow, and welfare conditions on site.
- Perform ongoing safety audits, conduct thorough inspections, investigate incidents, and drive the implementation of corrective actions.
- Collaborate actively with clients' HSE personnel, government regulators, and contractors to maintain full compliance and ensure clear reporting mechanisms.
Qualifications and Experience
- Academic background with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Possession of industry-standard certifications including NEBOSH International Diploma or NEBOSH IGC, OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor qualification, and ISO 14001 Lead Auditor accreditation.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential is an advantageous addition.
- At least 8 to 10 years of progressive leadership experience in safety management within civil infrastructure, extensive earthworks, and substantial construction sectors.
- Deep expertise in the safety protocols regarding heavy equipment, excavation site stability, emergency preparedness, and compliance with environmental statutes.
- Proven abilities in leading teams, effective communication, and managing emergencies.
