Role overview
Thornbury Castle Hotel, part of Relais & Châteaux, is hiring a Hotel Porter to join its dedicated Front of House team. The role is based in a carefully restored castle setting that delivers memorable five-star guest experiences.
About the property
Set within 15 acres of landscaped grounds, Thornbury Castle is the only Tudor castle in England that operates as a hotel. Following a major multi-million-pound refurbishment, the property has been brought back to its historic splendour. It is around 20 minutes by car from Bristol and includes 26 rooms and suites, an award-winning restaurant, a bar, and two distinctive meeting and conference rooms.
Hospitality philosophy
The organisation aims to provide refined, personalised service so that every guest can relax, enjoy themselves, and step away from everyday life. The experience is intended to make visitors feel treated like royalty in an exceptional setting with exceptional people.
Key duties
- Welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel.
- Support with moving and managing guest luggage.
- Accompany guests to their rooms when needed.
- Respond to guest questions and direct them to the appropriate department where required.
- Help maintain cleanliness and tidiness in guest-facing and public areas.
- Work alongside other team members to help ensure guest safety.
- Assist with room deliveries, including room service items and additional amenities.
Candidate profile
Applicants should have strong communication and interpersonal abilities, along with the reliability to work well as part of a team.
Working arrangement
This is a permanent zero-hours position, with complete flexibility needed from Monday through Sunday.
Pay and benefits
The role pays £12.71 per hour and includes an additional monthly share of service charge and tips.
