Role Overview

Bellmere State School is looking for a skilled and committed educational leader to step into the Head of Special Education Services position. This role is focused on strengthening the school’s special education provision, guiding teachers through coaching and proven teaching approaches, coordinating targeted supports and student case management, and ensuring all legal and departmental obligations are met. The successful candidate will lead inclusive practice, promote high expectations across the school, and support ongoing improvement so every learner has the best chance to succeed.

Key Duties

• Provide strategic direction for inclusive education by leading the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to improve outcomes for students with disability.
• Strengthen teacher and leader capability through practical advice, coaching, and support in the use of evidence-based teaching, reasonable adjustments, and targeted interventions.
• Oversee student support and case management, including intensive interventions, planning for students who need extensive or substantial adjustments, and coordination with specialist services.
• Support whole-school improvement by building effective systems, tracking student progress, managing disability data and reporting, and contributing to school planning and decision-making.
• Work with families, government agencies, and community organisations while managing human, financial, curriculum, and physical resources in support of inclusive education goals.
