Role Overview

The Head of Operations will serve as the operational cornerstone of CarbonChain, ensuring the seamless execution of company-wide initiatives, strategic cohesion, and the development of scalable infrastructure. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will collaborate with heads of product, engineering, sales, and customer success to boost organizational efficiency and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert broad company strategies into actionable operational plans, set KPIs, and define measurable objectives.
• Collaborate with the CEO and executive team on setting company OKRs, preparing board materials, and managing investor communications.
• Design and implement scalable workflows and processes spanning finance, HR, legal, and compliance functions.
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks to enhance cross-department collaboration and productivity.
• Manage and optimize essential business systems, including CRM, project management, and financial tools.
• Lead talent acquisition strategies, streamline hiring workflows, and oversee performance management.
• Promote and preserve company culture during periods of scaling, focusing on employee engagement and retention.
• Work with finance to oversee budgeting, forecasting, and analytics tied to business growth.
• Support fundraising efforts, assist with due diligence, and contribute to board preparation.
• Advocate for data-driven decision-making practices within go-to-market and customer success teams.
• Administer vendor agreements, legal matters, and ensure compliance adherence.
• Develop and maintain risk management protocols suitable for a dynamic startup environment.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum seven years of experience in operations, strategic roles, or business leadership, preferably within fast-scaling Series A to C technology companies.
• Proven expertise in creating and scaling processes that markedly improve operational efficiency.
• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct reporting lines.
• Strong financial literacy, including handling budgets, forecasting, and understanding SaaS performance metrics.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• An entrepreneurial spirit comfortable with ambiguity, capable of structuring new processes, and executing with a sense of urgency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in SaaS, fintech, climate technology, or AI sectors.
• Familiarity with fundraising, investor relations, or board-level interactions.
• A background as an early team member or operations lead at a high-growth startup.
