About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a partner organization seeking an accomplished Head of Operations based in Poland. This executive leadership position offers the chance to establish and expand the operational framework of a globally distributed, fully remote financial services company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing vital operational areas to guarantee efficient, compliant, and high-quality service delivery. They will lead cross-functional teams working in payments, reconciliations, business operations, and digital asset settlement domains.

This role requires strategic leadership combining operational proficiency, automation expertise, risk governance, and team management skills. The Head of Operations will focus on developing scalable processes, enhancing operational performance, and supporting sustainable growth in a technology-driven, fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement a robust operations strategy that aligns with overall business goals centering on scalability, operational quality, efficiency, and compliance.
• Lead operational teams across payments, treasury, reconciliations, card operations, back-office, and business operations functions.
• Own operational excellence by defining metrics, controls, and continuous improvement measures to uphold superior service standards.
• Drive automation and operational transformation leveraging technology, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and structured methodologies.
• Create and enforce consistent operating procedures to boost efficiency and improve operational transparency.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team fostering accountability, collaboration, and ongoing progress.
• Collaborate closely with compliance, risk management, and financial crime departments to ensure regulatory adherence and internal policy compliance.
• Establish and maintain operational risk frameworks incorporating monitoring, reporting, controls, and audit readiness.
• Work in synergy with technology, data, human resources, and client-facing units to ensure business alignment.
• Supervise all aspects of digital asset settlements including reconciliation, wallet administration, custody controls, and crypto-fiat transaction processes.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of ten years of progressive leadership experience in operations within banking, fintech, financial services, or wealth management sectors.
• Proven capability in managing and scaling multiple operations segments such as payments, treasury, settlements, and business operations.
• Expertise in process optimization, operational transformation, and developing automated, scalable workflows.
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, anti-money laundering practices, and financial crime prevention.
• Experience leading diverse multifunctional teams and cultivating a high-functioning operational culture.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Strategic orientation with aptitude for translating business strategies into executable operational plans.
• Background in cryptocurrency, blockchain, or digital asset operational management is highly advantageous.
• Capacity to efficiently function within a fully remote international setup demonstrating strong autonomy and teamwork skills.
