Role Overview

Gallagher is experiencing growth and scaling its Information Systems team to advance digital transformation. As Head of Infrastructure & Operations, you will lead teams managing Gallagher’s technology environment—ranging from cloud platforms and enterprise networks to service operations, data center management, and end-user support. You will balance immediate operational performance with strategic platform advancements underpinning the company's global business.

In partnership with Cyber Security, Architecture, and broader Digital Business Technology leadership, you will champion cloud adoption, elevate operational maturity, and enhance the technology experience for employees in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute infrastructure and cloud strategies across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments
• Manage infrastructure operations ensuring platforms are secure, resilient, scalable, and have high availability
• Lead excellence in service management processes including incident, problem, change, and release management
• Promote continuous improvement through automation, self-service initiatives, and modern ITSM practices to boost efficiency and user satisfaction
• Oversee service desk and end-user support teams to provide an exceptional technology experience
• Guide infrastructure upgrades, cloud modernization, and automation projects to increase efficiency and decrease complexity
• Build and nurture high-performing teams across infrastructure, cloud, operations, and workplace technology
• Collaborate with technology leaders to ensure infrastructure alignment with Gallagher’s strategic goals and future expansion

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive leadership experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud operations, or IT service management
• Deep knowledge of Azure, AWS, and hybrid cloud environments
• Background in IT service management, including service desk leadership, major incident management, and ITIL methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to upgrade and modernize technology platforms while ensuring operational continuity
• Solid understanding of networking, cloud infrastructure, end-user computing, and modern workplace tools
• Commercial insight with experience overseeing budgets, vendor relationships, and technology partners
• Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
