As the HSE Head, you will play a vital role ensuring all safety strategies comply with corporate and regional regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and uphold corporate HSE policies, safety plans, and legislative requirements while overseeing safety performance and establishing improvement initiatives.
- Guarantee that client safety standards are fully adhered to on-site.
- Collaborate with safety managers and contractors to enhance and enforce corporate HSE ethics and procedures.
- Supervise contractors to ensure safety protocols meet all legal and client obligations.
- Evaluate site safety plans, emergency response plans, contractor method statements, and risk assessments to verify hazard controls and conduct HSE inspections with feedback for swift corrective measures.
- Analyze and monitor contractors’ monthly HSE inspections and reports.
- Organize monthly safety meetings, set targets to resolve pending issues, and document/summarize follow-ups to involved parties.
- Oversee emergency preparedness, permit-to-work systems, Toolbox Talks, and maintain comprehensive HSE records and statistics as per company norms.
- Review investigation reports for incidents or accidents provided by contractors, communicate lessons learned, and ensure timely preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or Occupational Safety and Health.
- At least 15 years of experience as a Safety Engineer specializing in infrastructure projects within Qatar.
- Possession of recognized health and safety certifications or licenses recognized in UAE, such as ISO, NEBOSH, First Aid, and Fire Safety training.
- Availability for in-person interviews.
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills are desirable.
- Understanding of Federal Laws, Technical Guidelines, and regulations specific to the Sharjah emirate is beneficial.
