Role overview
A global semiconductor manufacturer is hiring an Engineering Director to lead engineering strategy across several international production locations. Reporting to the COO, the position is responsible for global oversight of equipment, facilities, automation, and major capital programmes, with a focus on high manufacturing performance and enabling future expansion.
Key responsibilities
- Direct the worldwide teams covering Equipment Engineering, Facilities Engineering, and Factory Automation across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Improve equipment uptime, fab availability, operating excellence, and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage large CapEx programmes, site expansions, infrastructure enhancements, and end-to-end delivery of engineering projects.
- Create and roll out engineering standards, proven practices, and stronger organisational capability across the global manufacturing footprint.
- Work closely with local leadership to support production targets, technology plans, and future capacity development.
Candidate profile
The employer is looking for a senior engineering leader with experience in semiconductor-related manufacturing environments. A successful candidate should bring a strong record of leading multi-site teams, delivering strategic engineering improvements, and supporting complex production operations.
Requirements
- A degree in Engineering, Semiconductor Technology, Physics, Materials Science, or a similar subject.
- Prior leadership experience in semiconductor manufacturing, wafer fabrication, semiconductor materials, foundries, or integrated device manufacturers.
- Hands-on expertise in equipment engineering, facilities engineering, automation, manufacturing engineering, or capital project execution.
- Experience leading large engineering teams in complex, multi-site industrial settings.
- A demonstrated history of improving operational results and implementing strategic engineering programmes.
