About the Role
Join the Graphics System team at Qualcomm as a GPU Performance Modelling Engineer to develop cutting-edge GPU architectures for mobile devices. This role focuses on building bitwise accurate functional simulators (C-Models) of next-generation graphics cores, enabling efficient graphics and compute performance with optimized power consumption. The development involves close collaboration with architects, designers, driver and compiler teams to ensure the design verification and validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed C/C++ models representing new GPU architectures and graphics solutions.
- Develop comprehensive test suites for functional verification and validate the simulator against RTL simulations.
- Execute rigorous conformance, stress, and random testing to ensure the reliability and stability of GPUs and compute systems.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline with at least 4 years of relevant systems engineering experience; alternatively, a Master’s degree with minimum 2 years or a PhD in these fields.
- Strong programming proficiency in C++ specifically for modelling purposes and sound understanding of computer architecture and graphics pipelines.
- Proven debugging and problem-solving capabilities with an emphasis on writing clean, maintainable C++ code.
Preferred Skills
- Experience and knowledge of graphics, ray-tracing, and compute architectures including APIs such as DirectX, OpenGL, OpenCL, Vulkan.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Perl and Python.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience in SystemC and TLM modeling techniques.
- Exposure to agile development methodologies.
- Background in graphics or compute drivers and compilers is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Verilog, Vera, or SystemVerilog is a plus.
