General Merchandise Team Lead

Position Overview

This role supports leadership within the General Merchandise department, ensuring high-quality customer service and efficient task completion. The Team Lead plans and organizes daily department operations and actively participates on the sales floor when necessary.

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, assisting with product promotion, helping locate merchandise, facilitating purchase choices, resolving issues, and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Provide direction for task completion aligned with priorities set by the General Merchandise Coach and Store Management. Delegate responsibilities and follow up on daily Customer Availability process tasks.
• Evaluate the overall presentation and appearance of General Merchandise areas, identify and address deficiencies, and implement merchandising display updates as needed.
• Lead effective communication by conducting daily Team Huddles to share updates, set goals, and monitor productivity.
• Collaborate with the People Lead to review shift schedules and assign associates for adequate coverage throughout the store.
• Conduct area tours with the Coach and team to identify training needs, foster associate development through teaching and feedback.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment by following company policies, completing safety checks, and ensuring fixtures and displays are secure and debris-free.
• Complete GTA/Workday administrative tasks and provide support to management.
• Work with Coach and People Lead to manage associate performance, facilitate growth conversations, and support recruitment efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.

Additional Information
