Role Overview
We are collaborating with one of Australia's foremost visitor attractions to recruit an experienced General Manager. This position involves managing all facets of the operation, offering an outstanding opportunity for a commercially savvy leader to enhance business outcomes while ensuring superior guest experiences at a prominent Melbourne tourism site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic and operational activities across all business units to deliver outstanding visitor satisfaction.
- Assume complete responsibility for financial outcomes, including driving revenue growth, profitability, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
- Guide, mentor, and motivate a high-caliber leadership team to foster a positive, accountable organizational culture.
- Maintain operational excellence with adherence to top safety, compliance, and guest service standards.
- Manage facilities, oversee asset maintenance, preventive upkeep, and capital upgrade projects.
- Establish and nurture effective partnerships with internal teams, tourism collaborators, industry associations, and the local community.
- Identify and implement strategies to enhance operational performance, boost visitor numbers, and promote the attraction's sustainable growth.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive senior management background within attractions, hospitality, tourism, leisure industries, or large retail operations.
- Proven track record of managing sophisticated operations with full profit and loss responsibility.
- Sharp commercial insight paired with skills to increase revenue streams and operational efficiencies.
- Experienced in leading diverse, multidisciplinary teams and mentoring emerging leaders.
- Strong communication capabilities coupled with adeptness in stakeholder relations.
- Genuine enthusiasm for crafting memorable guest experiences and achieving operational excellence.
Compensation
Salary is open to negotiation based on the candidate's experience.
