Job Summary
The Furniture Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and assembling furniture as per directions from management. This role requires careful attention to assessing damages and restoring diverse furniture materials through skilled repair and refinishing techniques.
Primary Responsibilities
- Examine all incoming furniture to ensure it meets company standards.
- Assess damages and determine suitable repair or restoration methods for wood, leather, fabric, and upholstery.
- Manage inventory and maintain stock records within the refurbishing department; order necessary supplies for day-to-day tasks.
- Use specialized tools and machinery to perform furniture repairs effectively.
- Assist in delivering finished products to residential and other locations.
- Manually aid in off-loading trailers without using forklifts.
- Support logistics by helping pull delivery routes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in precise assembly and repair of furniture.
- Exceptional attention to detail paired with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Skilled in color matching and blending techniques.
- Must have basic to proficient skills in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Educational & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with wood, leather, fabric, and upholstery furniture.
Physical Demands
The position entails standing and walking for long periods and frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and handling heavy materials. The role requires lifting and moving items weighing up to 75 pounds regularly. Routine tasks include phone use, computer operation, and handling shipping documents.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly wage ranges from 30 to 31.25 USD, with final salary determined based on market conditions and candidate qualifications.
