About the company
Lystr is rethinking how Australians sell property. By combining licensed real estate expertise, practical technology and a clear fixed-fee model, the business helps homeowners stay in control of their sale while spending far less than under the standard commission-based approach.
In under 18 months, Lystr has become one of the leading agencies in the ACT by settlements. With the Canberra model now proven, the next focus is on scaling growth, improving customer acquisition efficiency and expanding nationally.
Role overview
Lystr is seeking a commercially sharp and highly inventive Founding Growth Lead to own demand generation across the full customer journey. This is a very hands-on role that spans brand, content, social media, paid acquisition, CRM, conversion, partnerships and lifecycle marketing. The goal is to create demand, turn interest into qualified opportunities and help more homeowners choose Lystr when they are ready to sell.
The role also includes shaping a distinctive Lystr presence on social channels. Content should feel useful, confident and human, with room for humour where appropriate, while also challenging how the traditional real estate industry works.
This position would suit someone with a hustler mindset who is comfortable quickly learning or already capable of developing campaign ideas, recording founder-led video content, analysing CAC by channel, improving landing pages, building HubSpot workflows and speaking with customers to understand why they did or did not move forward.
Key responsibilities
Your day-to-day priorities will vary, but the role will cover the following areas:
- Own the marketing-generated pipeline from first touch through to sale, including the integrated demand plan across paid, organic, referral, partnership and lifecycle channels, plus funnel stages, conversion goals and lead-quality metrics.
- Develop Lystr’s voice across social and content by turning customer stories, market updates and founder viewpoints into attention-grabbing material that builds a community around fairer, more transparent property selling.
- Run paid media across Meta, Google, Reddit and newer channels, using budget decisions based on lead quality and downstream conversions rather than impressions, while reducing CAC and increasing listing volume.
- Lead CRM and lifecycle activity in HubSpot, creating automated and manual follow-up journeys so leads are not lost, and improving data flow between the platform, ad systems and reporting.
- Continuously test and improve the path from ad to listing by experimenting with pages, offers, forms, emails and scripts, supported by customer interviews and behavioural data to identify friction points.
- Build growth beyond digital advertising through partnerships, referral and advocacy programs, and local campaigns that place Lystr in homeowner conversations at a measurable cost.
- Manage agencies and other external partners as needed.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a startup, scale-up or other high-growth B2C company.
- Proven ownership of a measurable acquisition funnel or revenue pipeline.
- Practical experience using HubSpot or similar CRM platforms.
- Hands-on experience managing Meta and Google advertising.
- Experience creating short-form video and social content.
- Background in landing page optimisation and conversion rate improvement.
- Experience with marketing automation and lead nurturing.
- Exposure to partnerships or referral channel development.
- Understanding of major consumer decision-making journeys.
- Real estate experience is beneficial, but strong curiosity, commercial judgement and willingness to challenge traditional thinking matter more.
Compensation and work setup
The package is listed as 130k FTE, equivalent to $80k pro-rata for 3 days per week, plus bonus and equity. The role is part-time initially, with the possibility of moving into a full-time position within 6 to 12 months.
Lystr prefers Canberra for this role, though Sydney or remote candidates may also be considered. Flexible working is available.
Why join Lystr
- Flexible work options, including office-based or remote arrangements for the right person.
- A competitive base salary together with bonus and equity, depending on experience.
- Opportunity to become an owner in the business through equity.
- The chance to take full ownership of an important function and build it from the ground up.
- A role with the potential to reshape a traditional industry and create a better way for homeowners to sell their biggest asset.
- Direct collaboration with the founders, with influence over product, customer experience, brand and growth direction.
Additional information
