Job Overview
The Flight Dispatcher position supports the Senior Flight Dispatcher in ensuring that all Maximus flights are conducted safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively in compliance with GCAA regulations and the company's policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Audit and oversee Assistant Dispatchers' activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Perform scheduled audits—daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually—covering SOPs, standard practices, and regulatory adherence.
- Provide flight dispatch and planning services aligned with company procedures.
- Ensure all flights are dispatched in safe and efficient ways, complying with regulatory and company requirements.
- Verify adherence to Maximus aerodrome checklists, insurance, security authorizations, and fuel policies to guarantee economic and efficient flight planning.
- Monitor flight operations proactively for issues such as weather, slots, delays, NOTAMs, and MELs, coordinating with Flight Managers and departments like Maintenance, Crew Control, Ground Operations, Safety, and Security.
- Communicate with civil aviation authorities, handling agents, and fuel suppliers.
- Assist in preparing flight briefing documents under guidance of the Senior Flight Dispatcher.
- Oversee aircraft in-flight monitoring and maintain vigilance on weather, safety, and security within dispatch coverage.
- Coordinate with loading teams, crew transportation, and ramp operations to support smooth flight operations.
- Manage incoming communications to Operations Control, escalating issues as needed, and handle post-flight documentation and archiving.
- Pay special attention to Sub-Charter processes ensuring procedural compliance.
- Undertake special tasks assigned by the Operations Control Centre Manager.
Work Context and Interactions
- Based at Maximus headquarters within the Operations Control Centre.
- Plan and organize flight routes for scheduled airports, ensuring timely task completion.
- Coordinate and decide crew requirements for dispatch support including catering, transportation, and scheduling.
- Collaborate closely with other Flight Dispatchers, Senior Flight Dispatchers, Supervisor Flight Dispatchers, crew members, Flight Coordinators, ground staff, and occasionally civil aviation departments.
- Develop positive relationships with relevant contacts to facilitate permit acquisition.
- Accountable to the Senior Flight Dispatcher for contributions to flight planning.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a valid Flight Dispatch license is mandatory.
- Completion of relevant aviation training courses.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts or a 24-hour shift schedule.
- Proficient computer skills, with good planning and organizational abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex operational tasks.
- Competency in Arabic language is required.
Technical Expertise
- Familiarity with at least one established flight dispatch system such as SITA or JEPPESEN.
- Good understanding of JEPPESEN flight planning software and manuals.
- Knowledge regarding the performance characteristics of at least one aircraft type in the company fleet.
- Awareness of Civil Aviation publications relevant to flight operations.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years experience in ad-hoc or scheduled flight operations.
- Total 5 to 7 years in a flight dispatcher role or a closely related position.
