About the Role
Join the Finance team at PGG Wrightson Seeds based in Pākākano, Lincoln office, serving as the financial accountant for the Oceania region. This position holds a pivotal technical accounting responsibility within the Reporting & Compliance function, ensuring precise and compliant financial results across New Zealand and Australia. You'll be involved with statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit facilitation, technical accounting issues, financial presentations, asset management, intercompany reconciliations, and group consolidation financials.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare statutory financial statements for the Oceania region, including joint venture partnerships.
- Facilitate annual audit processes by delivering accurate and timely data.
- Prepare and review indirect tax filings such as GST, FBT, NRWT, and RWT for all New Zealand group entities.
- Support year-end tax calculations, adjustments, and disclosures.
- Assist with international tax matters, including transfer pricing, BEPS Pillar Two compliance, and other cross-border considerations.
- Review submissions for Group and OneStream reporting along with essential reconciliations.
- Oversee balance sheet assessments focusing on accounts with high risk or judgment demands.
- Manage intercompany balance validations, transactions, and reconciliations.
- Ensure appropriate recognition, classification, and presentation of capital expenditures and asset accounting.
- Maintain lease reporting conforming to IFRS16 using the Nomos lease system.
- Contribute to ongoing enhancement of financial reporting procedures, internal controls, and standards within Oceania.
Candidate Profile
- A qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent with multiple years of post-qualification experience in financial reporting and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS standards, including asset accounting, leases, and tax implications.
- Experienced in statutory reporting, audit support, and complex technical accounting challenges.
- Exposure to managing finance across multi-entity and multi-jurisdictional environments, notably in New Zealand and Australia.
- Familiarity with international tax strategies like Transfer Pricing and BEPS Pillar Two framework is a plus.
- Excellent communication and cooperative skills to foster trusted partnerships with finance colleagues, group teams, and operational stakeholders.
