Role Overview
This role centers on active in-store engagement across Texas, requiring extensive fieldwork visiting retail locations. You'll cultivate strong relationships with store personnel, secure sell-in orders, and ensure Traeger remains a dominant brand presence within your assigned market. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow accounts by proactively presenting Traeger products, seasonal assortments, and promotions to maximize sell-in and shelf presence.
- Establish and deepen trusted partnerships with retailers, focusing on Platinum, Gold, Ace Hardware, and Key Specialty dealers throughout Texas.
- Plan and achieve financial targets quarterly and annually while monitoring inventory and optimizing assortments based on store space and strategy.
- Research and develop new distribution channels that complement existing accounts without cannibalization.
- Lead retailer training to empower store employees with product knowledge and enthusiasm, and identify store champions to elevate brand representation.
- Coordinate and participate in in-store events, activations, and demos during peak selling seasons.
- Create compelling merchandising displays using Traeger’s POP materials to maintain strong brand visibility and protect floor space.
- Collaborate on co-op marketing efforts to promote Traeger’s brand at retail.
- Remain informed on local market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain 100% CRM compliance to track activities, sales pipeline, and schedule effectively.
Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years experience in field sales, territory management, or retail account handling, preferably in consumer goods, outdoor/hardlines, or sporting goods.
- Strong ability to drive sales by establishing rapport with store buyers and managers, securing orders or commitments.
- Comfort with extensive travel and spending the majority of the workweek in the field.
- Exceptional verbal communication and relationship-building skills, confident in presenting to diverse retail stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and well-organized with the capability to manage multiple accounts without direct supervision.
- Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Experience using Salesforce or related CRM tools preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Valid driver’s license and readiness for frequent overnight travel within Texas.
- Physical stamina to remain on feet for long periods and lift loads over 50 pounds regularly.
- Bachelor’s degree is favored but equivalent sales experience is equally considered.
