Job Overview
This role involves conducting thorough failure analyses on a variety of samples including customer returns, production rejects, reliability failures, and research & development specimens. The position requires identifying failure modes and underlying causes through detailed investigation and reporting findings clearly within agreed deadlines.
Key Duties
- Execute analysis for returned, rejected, and failed samples to determine causes.
- Identify failure mechanisms and root causes by detailed examination.
- Produce accurate, comprehensive failure analysis reports within set timeframes.
- Advise teams on appropriate failure analysis methods and ensure evaluation of all possible failure modes.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support readiness for failure analysis in new packaging technologies.
- Develop and refine failure analysis techniques, capabilities, and laboratory processes for improved efficiency and detection accuracy.
- Provide training on failure analysis practices and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Lead initiatives to reduce costs and enhance key performance indicators related to failure analysis.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and 5S standards within the Quality Assurance Laboratory including equipment audits.
- Manage ISO/ISM documentation and supervise operations in the QA Decapsulation Room.
Candidate Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant work experience in failure analysis or reliability engineering.
- Strong analytical capabilities related to failure and reliability evaluation.
- Familiarity with semiconductor failure mechanisms, final testing procedures, and manufacturing fundamentals.
- Experience with tools and methodologies such as FMEA, Statistical Process Control, and Design of Experiments.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management systems, and workplace safety and health practices.
