Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Expert in HSSE Culture to join on a contract basis for a two-year term, located in Oman. This role involves leading the development and enhancement of the company's safety culture, driving leadership engagement, and fostering a proactive safety environment throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Safety Culture framework within the organization.
- Coach leaders and supervisors to demonstrate visible safety leadership.
- Facilitate safety leadership activities such as safety walks and engagements.
- Promote accountability and ownership of safety at all organizational levels.
- Conduct safety culture assessments through surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
- Analyze safety performance metrics, including leading and lagging indicators.
- Identify cultural gaps, trends, and high-risk behaviors impacting safety.
- Benchmark safety culture maturity against industry best practices.
- Design and implement change management programs to enhance safety culture.
- Lead initiatives that drive workforce engagement and frontline participation in safety.
- Encourage open reporting and learning from safety incidents.
- Create and deliver training on safety culture, human factors, and leadership.
- Integrate safety culture principles into onboarding processes and competency frameworks.
- Support alignment of contractor safety culture with company standards.
- Mentor HSSE teams in behavioral safety techniques.
- Assist incident investigations emphasizing human and organizational factors.
- Contribute expert advice to HSSE policies, standards, and strategies.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness and progress of safety culture initiatives to leadership.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, asset and project teams, HSSE managers, operations, maintenance teams, contractors, and business partners.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Advanced degrees or professional certifications in relevant areas are preferred.
- 8 to 10 years of HSSE experience within oil & gas, energy, chemical, or heavy industry sectors.
