About the Role
This remote contract opportunity is for Phylogenetics PhDs and subject-matter experts who can help create challenging scientific data for AI training and evaluation. The work supports AI research teams by bringing deep domain knowledge in evolutionary biology and related fields.
Compensation
Pay is set at $55 to $80 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Design complex, high-quality phylogenetics problems that can be used to improve AI systems.
- Partner with AI research teams to strengthen large language models using specialized expertise.
- Review model responses, identify gaps, and provide precise feedback to improve output quality.
- Work independently in an asynchronous setup while meeting agreed project timelines.
- Maintain a very high level of accuracy and care across all deliverables.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a PhD or other advanced qualification in one of the following areas: Evolutionary Biology, Phylogenetics, Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, or Ecology & Evolution. Strong attention to detail and excellent written and spoken communication are essential.
Interview and Application Process
